Description
O’Sullivan’s Law says that institutions will move left without a deliberate effort to thwart liberal drift. History has shown this axiom also applies to denominations, too. And in the case of the once-recovered Southern Baptist Convention, time will tell if it can remain faithful. Certainly, there is much to celebrate in the SBC. From cooperative missions and seminary training to countless churches that love Christ and his truth, the SBC continues to impact the world for the savior. But drift is a real threat, and within the “big tent” of the SBC a rising tide of female leaders, a repeated lack of fiscal accountability, and a growing disconnect between SBC leaders and laypeople raise the question: Can the center hold? Join us this month as we ponder this question for the SBC and beyond.
